How SnappRice Works
Search, compare, save — it's that simple.
🔍 Searching for Products
Type any product name in the search bar and press Enter, or click the Search button. You can also:
- Voice search — Click the 🎤 microphone icon and speak your search.
- Photo search — Click the 📷 camera icon to upload photos of items you want to find (up to 6 photos).
- Search history — Click "History" in the header to quickly repeat past searches.
💡 Results are fetched from multiple stores at once. The first results appear in seconds, with more loading as they become available.
📊 Search Results & Price Grid
Results are shown as cards in a grid. Each card shows the store name, product name, price, and the "Best" badge if it's the lowest price found.
- Sort — Use the "Sort by" dropdown to order by price (low to high or high to low), rating, or featured.
- Filter by store — Use the "Store" dropdown to show results from a specific store only.
- Pagination — 40 results per page. Use the page numbers or ← Prev / Next → to navigate.
- Buy Now — Click the green Buy Now button to go directly to the product page on the store's website.
💡 Each result has its own unique link. Favoriting or setting a price alert applies to that specific listing only.
❤️ Favorites
Click the heart icon 🤍 on any product card to save it to your favorites. The heart turns red ❤️ when saved.
- Save — Click 🤍 on any search result card to add it to your favorites.
- Unsave — Click ❤️ on the same card to remove it. On the Favorites page, click the ❤️ to remove it from the list.
- View — Go to your Account → Favorites tab to see all saved items in one place.
- Pagination — Favorites show 20 per page (5 columns × 4 rows).
💡 You must be signed in to use Favorites. Favorites are tied to your account and sync across devices.
📈 Price History & Alerts
Click the 📈 chart icon on any product card to open the price history chart and set price drop alerts.
Price Chart
- Shows simulated price trends over the last 7, 30, or 90 days.
- The lowest price over the selected period is shown below the chart.
- 30-day and 90-day views are available for Premium members.
💡 Click the 📈 chart icon on any product card to open the price history popup. The price alert section is at the bottom of this popup — set your target price there.
Price Alerts
- Enter a target price and click "Alert me" to be notified when the price drops to your target.
- How it works: Every day at 4:00 AM EST, SnappRice checks the current price of your watched items. If the price is at or below your target, we send an email to your registered email address.
- One alert per product — You can only set one alert per product per store.
- Free limit: Up to 6 alerts. Premium members get unlimited alerts.
- Cancel — Click "Cancel" on an active alert to remove it. The alert section also shows "✓ Notification sent" once triggered.
💡 Make sure your email address is up to date in Account Settings to receive price drop notifications.
🔔 After an Alert Triggers
When the price drops to or below your target:
- You'll receive an email with the product name, store, your target price, the current price, and how much you save.
- The email includes a "View Deal" button that takes you directly to the product.
- The alert is marked as "Notification sent" in your account and won't trigger again for the same product.
- You can still remove the alert after it triggers.
👤 Your Account
Sign in to save favorites, set price alerts, and manage your account.
- Sign in / Register — Use email + password or Google OAuth. Password must be at least 8 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Change Email — You can change your email address in Account Settings. Enter your new email and current password, then verify the new email with a code sent to it. All your data (favorites, alerts, membership) moves to the new account. Your old email will be blocked from creating a new account for 3 months. Free plan usage limits stay the same after the change.
- Change Password — Update your password in Account Settings. Enter your current password, choose a new one (8+ characters with letters, numbers, and symbols), then verify the change with a code sent to your email.
- Membership — Free accounts have limited price alerts (6) and photo searches (5/month). Premium unlocks unlimited alerts, photo search, and extended price history.
